Baldur’s Gate 3 to be released as a NWN2 module?
Well, not exactly.
It turns out that back in the day Black Isle, the developer of the awesome Baldur’s Gate games, lost it’s right to produce D&D games, but retained the right to produce games based on the Baldur’s Gate series set in the Forgotten Realms. Therefore Black Isle started producing a game called Baldur’s Gate 3, set in the Forgotten Realms, but actually having nothing to do with the children of Bhaal or the plotlines of the BG series.
J.E. Sawyer, who was the lead designer of BG3 at the time and is a current employee of Obsidian, is now going to turn this game into a NWN2 module. Most of the storyline and script had already been completed, although J.E. Sawyer is making some improvements to it. The game is to be called ‘the black hound’ and the development blog with pictures and other goodies can be found here.
