I finished Mysteries of Westgate on the the evil path (hint – vampirism!). What a great game. I am going to load up one of my save games to go on the anti-vampire path as well.
One criticism, and not really a criticism at all, is that the game could really have done with some more voice over. I don’t know how much voice over costs, or if it is expensive or more difficult to implement, but I think a 10% surcharge for the next adventure pack so we could have more of it (meaning taking the price from $10 to $11) would be something that people would be willing to pay for the increased atmosphere.
The game also shows it’s age. It was completed in 2007, and doesn’t incorporate the improvements of Mask of the Betrayer or Storm of Zehir. I get the sense that the developers would have made a slightly different game if they made it today.
Did you buy Mysteries of Westgate? If not, get it now! If MoW does not do well, we won’t see any more adventure packs. There is no doubt that the next Ossian adventure pack will be even better.
